Mike gave me a box of chocolates (darks, my favorite) and a card. I treated him to an eggplant parm hero from our favorite pizza place. Got myself a shrimp parm hero and an antipasto salad for both of us. I also treated Nicky to ravioli. James went out but he can have the rest of my hero and the rest of the salad.
Katherine stopped by a few minutes agot with a cute Snoopy card and a pretty orchid plant. I think it is a philonopses
I went to another visit at the eye doctor. The vision in my 'fixed' eye is now 20/25!
My next surgery is Monday morning. It was originally in the early afternoon but they had a cancellation. I'm so glad because I hate fasting. I can't wait to be done and have good vision. What a difference it will make.
Right now if I am on the computer I have to cover up my 'bad' eye and wear reading glasses to see through the new eye. Either that or I have to lean in really, really close.
Time to go watch "Jeopardy!"

Eyes
So I had the first cataract surgery done last Monday, Feb. 5. It went very well. I'm already seeing a difference! I don't even wear my glasses because now they make me see double. One eye is almost completely far-sighted, and the eye that still has the cataracts is near-sighted.
They put a lot of drops in your eye to dilate it, plus stuff to make you not feel anything. A little valium, too. Thought I'd be 'out,' but I was awake. Felt fine going home. A little sore but not bad. I have to take drops for a few weeks and wear dark glasses outside. Also, an eye shield at night.
It is going to be great to be able to see clearly!
